During the liquid phase, the fluid used in immersion cooling remains in a stable state and does not boil or freeze. Cool fluid is circulated past the heat source, where it absorbs thermal energy through conduction and raises its temperature. The heated fluid is then passed through a heat exchanger to cool down before being circulated back to the heat source. The transfer of heat, known as “sensible heat,” is directly proportional to the temperature rise of the fluid. The flow rate of the fluid can be controlled to regulate the temperature rise, with a faster flow rate resulting in a lower temperature rise and less energy transfer to each unit of fluid.
